How Advisors support your student Accordion Closed

During New Student Advising, your student will:

  • Meet their First Year Academic Advisor
  • Finalize their fall 2021 class schedule
  • Review their transfer credit and/ or test scores
  • Answer their questions

We appreciate this opportunity to connect with your student and facilitate their first NAU class experience. As your student’s Academic Advisor, we value their continued growth and strive to help facilitate their increasing independence and informed decision making.

If you or your student have questions following the New Student Advising session, please email or call your student’s advisor directly. Contact information can be found at nau.edu/advising.

How University Advising can support you Accordion Closed

We recognize the valuable role parents and family play in a student’s successful transition to college, and advisors are available as a resource to all.

We recommend familiarizing yourself with the “Student Resources” section of our website to learn more about NAU degree requirements, enrollment, and academic policies. There are lots of open-access resources that can help you as you support your student.

If you ever have questions please do not hesitate to reach out. Advisors can be reached over email at gateway@nau.edu or pop into our Zoom Call-in on Tuesdays at 11:00-12:15pm or Thursday at 1:30-3:15pm (AZ Time) to talk with one of our Directors and ask questions or learn more about your student’s academic transition to NAU.
