Career Corner is a weekly gathering where Lumberjacks can meet face-to-face with employers from various industries right on campus. It’s your chance to grab a coffee and chat in a relaxed setting. Whether you‘re curious about a specific industry or exploring potential opportunities, this is the perfect place to start. No need to stress—just come as you are and bring your curiosity!
How to make the most of Career Corner
- Do your homework: Before attending, check which employers will be there and learn a bit about them. This shows initiative and helps you ask insightful questions.
- Perfect your elevator pitch: Be ready to introduce yourself briefly and highlight your skills and interests. Make a memorable first impression!
- Ask questions: Don’t be shy! This is your opportunity to learn about different career paths, company cultures, and what employers look for in candidates.
- Bring your resume: Have a few copies of your resume on hand. Some employers may be ready to collect them or may ask for one.
- Follow up: After the event, connect with the people you met on LinkedIn and send a brief thank-you message to keep the conversation going.

The Career Corner at Northern Arizona University (NAU) offers a unique opportunity to engage with our talented students in a relaxed and informal setting, helping you build meaningful connections with potential future employees.
About Career Corner
This exclusive event allows your company to table and interact with NAU students in a one-of-a-kind, low-pressure environment. On the day of your participation, your company will be the only one spotlighted, ensuring focused, personalized engagement with students. In addition to the tabling, you’ll also have the option to schedule 1:1 in-person meetings, providing an opportunity to connect directly with students about career advice, internships, and job opportunities.
Held weekly during the Fall and Spring semesters, Career Corner takes place on selected weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the University Union, near the Hot Spot. This is a great chance to meet with NAU students from a variety of academic backgrounds and discuss career paths in a comfortable, high-traffic area.
Benefits of participating
By attending Career Corner, your company will be able to:
- Promote your job openings and internships directly to students.
- Collect resumes and conduct informal interviews.
- Increase awareness of your organization among NAU students in a vibrant, high-traffic area of the University Union.
We provide all the essentials for a successful day, including:
- A 6-foot table and two chairs
- A whiteboard for your signage
- Snacks to incentivize student participation
- A parking pass for your convenience
Your company will also be featured in our social media promotions, on Handshake, and in our Career Development Newsletter to maximize visibility for your participation.
Cost and logistics
The fee for attending Career Corner is $200, which covers:
- Tabling space rental
- Event advertising
- Snacks for students
- Support from the NAU Career Development staff
If you’d like to schedule 1:1 meetings with students, a meeting space will be provided upon request. You can organize these meetings through Handshake by either creating an event where students sign up via email, or by using the Employer-Hosted Schedules feature (a premium Handshake tool) to allow students to select time slots directly.
How to participate
