Open to NAU students and the community

The Testing Center supports student success and the wider community by offering exams that students and community members may need for their professional career, to obtain college credit, to place in college classes, and to prepare for life after college.

NAU Testing Resources for Faculty Accordion Closed

The Testing Center can provide proctoring for NAU courses including make-up exams. A  fee is charged on a per-student basis.

GED and AZ Civics Accordion Closed

We are a Pearson Vue Select Testing Center offering the GED and the AZ Civics Test.  To register and pay for your GED and AZ Civics Test, visit the GED website , create an account and then search for your closest test center. For more information you can also visit the AZ Department of Education GED website.

Pearson Vue Accordion Closed

We are a Pearson Vue Select Testing Center. We administer GED, NES, GMAT, NREMT, DANB, Real Estate, American Medical Technologists and several other tests through this partnership.

CLEP Accordion Closed

To Register for a CLEP Exam:

Step 1– Each college sets its own policy regarding which CLEP exams it will grant credit for and how many credits it will award. Review NAU’s CLEP credit by exam policies.

Step 2– Check available NAU Exams

Step 3– Visit the CLEP website to register and pay for the exam you want to take

Step 4– To register and pay to take the CLEP at the NAU Testing Center, go to  NAU Testing Center Registration.. The fee is $60.

Step 5– Bring your CLEP voucher and valid ID on the day of your exam

Proctored exams for other schools (Rio Salado, etc.) Accordion Closed

The Testing Center can proctor tests for other institutions and universities, including Rio Salado College. We can accommodate paper-based and computer-based exams. Exams are $65 for 4 hours of proctoring.

Registration & Additional Information

Note: In-person registration is available at the Testing Center. Payment is due at the time of scheduling. We accept most credit cards via our registration system. Due to university policy, we do NOT accept cash.

Identification Accordion Closed

Two forms of identification are mandatory to take an exam.

The primary form of identification must have a clear recognizable photo and signature.

  • Drivers license
  • Military ID
  • State or federally issued identification card or a passport

Secondary identification must have either a clear recognizable photo or a signature.

  • Student ID
  • Bank card
  • Social security card
  • Notarized letter of identity

ADA Accommodations Accordion Closed

Accommodations for tests offered by the Testing Center may be granted with a documented ADA disability. Procedures for getting accommodations approved vary by exam, format, and the testing company. If you are looking to take a professional or non-NAU exam, please contact the exam vendor or faculty to obtain accommodation(s). In turn, the exam vendor or faculty will provide accommodation information to the Testing Center prior to the test date.

Northern Arizona University complies with all ADA regulations. NAU students who believe they are entitled to disability-related academic accommodations should contact Disability Resources at (928) 523-8773 (voice) or (928) 523-6906 (TTY). Students must register with Disability Resources each semester to be eligible to receive special testing accommodations.

Any concerns or questions related to noncompliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act may be brought to the attention of Disability Resources or the Equity and Access Office.

Cancellations Accordion Closed

Cancelling or rescheduling an exam MUST be done more than 48 hours in advance; otherwise the examinee will forfeit the entire exam fee and repayment will be required in order to reschedule. For more details on cancellations, please review our Terms and Conditions.

Weather Delays and Closures Accordion Closed

In the event of weather related delays, test-takers should either reschedule their test by calling (928) 523-7324 during business hours or keep their existing appointment.

For weather related closures, students should call (928) 523-7324 the following business day to reschedule their exam or to request a refund.

The Testing Center is located within the du Bois S. Union building, bldg. #64, room 140 on the Northern Arizona University Flagstaff Mountain campus. Our address is 306 E. Pine Knoll Dr., Flagstaff, AZ 86011 Locate the Testing Center on Google Maps.

Parking

NAU students, staff, and faculty with a valid permit can park in an appropriate parking lot. All guests visiting the Northern Arizona University campus are required to purchase a parking permit from NAU’s Parking & Shuttle Services.
