How do I schedule an appointment with my advisor?

Drop-in Hours
Starting in fall 2026, we’re updating advising locations on the Flagstaff Mountain campus to make it easier to find advising support. Learn more about our new advising hubs, what’s changing, and what’s staying the same: Explore Advising Hubs and Updates.
To support the advising office moves, drop-ins are paused until the week of August 3, and will resume on Tuesday, August 4 at 1 p.m. MST.
What is Drop-In Advising
We know questions don’t always come up on schedule. That’s why we offer drop-in advising—no appointment needed.
Drop-in is a great option for quick questions that need immediate attention and typically take 15–20 minutes, like:
- Can I swap this class before the deadline?
- How do I drop a course today?
- I have a registration hold—what should I do?
Drop-In Advising is first-come, first-served. Wait times may vary depending on the time of year. If your question is more complex—like changing a major, creating a schedule for the semester, or planning your full academic path—we invite you to schedule an appointment. But Drop-in can be a great place to start. We’ll listen, offer guidance, and help you schedule a follow-up if needed.
We’ll meet you where you are. If it’s a quiet time, we may be able to help with more in-depth questions right away.

Unless out of the office, advisors are always available by phone and sometimes in-person. On the Flagstaff Mountain campus, any in-person advising for drop-in or appointment will be at one of our Advising Hubs in Gateway Student Success Center (#43) and Learning Resource Center (#61). Review location details before setting out. To understand your assigned advisor’s location and availability use the Appointment Planner.
