Summer Communication Camps

The School of Communication at Northern Arizona University offers immersive, hands-on summer camps for high school students ages 14–18.

Explore photography, animation, and sports & adventure storytelling while experiencing creative learning on NAU’s campus in Flagstaff, Arizona.

All camps are led by NAU faculty and designed to build confidence, technical skills, and a strong storytelling voice.

Camp Experiences

Photography

Learn to tell powerful visual stories through composition, lighting, portraiture, action photography, and long exposure techniques.

Animation

Create a short stop-motion film while exploring storytelling, timing, materials, and sound.

Sports & Adventure Media

Capture the energy of sports and outdoor environments through photography, video, and writing.
