Background

NAU is governed by the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) and receives the authority for NAU to enter into binding contractual relationships on behalf of ABOR through ABOR policy 3-103.  ABOR was established pursuant to Article 11, Section 5 of the Arizona Constitution and receives its power to contract from Arizona Revised Statute (ARS) § 15-1625.

The Contracting and Purchasing Services’ contracting office was established to ensure university contracts:

1. Comply with Arizona state law.
2. Conform to current NAU and ABOR policies.
3. Are in the best interest of the University.
