The Office of the Vice President for Research has published a new NAU policy, Participation in Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs (FTRP). The policy was created to meet the requirements of the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 (Subtitle D Research Security, Sections 10631, 10632 and 10638 of the U.S. Public Law 117-167), which requires Covered Individuals (senior/key personnel) to disclose participation in FTRPs and certify prior to proposal submission that they are not party to a Malign FTRP.
To learn more and for definitions of Covered Individual, FTRPs, and Malign FTRPs in the University Policy Library.
To comply with the policy, the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) has expanded and updated its significant financial interest disclosure form. The new Significant Financial Interest and Foreign Talent Recruitment Program Disclosure form must be completed by all Covered Individuals on a project before the proposal can by submitted by OSP.
The updated form is available in the Forms, worksheets, & tools section of the OSP website.
