New electronic effort reporting certification will go live January 2017
December 7, 2016
Dear NAU Research Community,
The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) is very pleased to announce the implementation of an Electronic Effort Reporting System also known as Electronic Effort Distribution Reports (eEDR). The system is scheduled to go live January 2017 and this coincides with the 6 month certification period ending December 31, 2016. The new electronic effort certification process will significantly increase the efficiency and transparency of this process while maintaining the institution’s high standards of compliance.
To assist with the transition to this new process the OSP fund managers assigned to the PIs department/center, will work individually to provide hands on training for PIs on using the eEDR system. OSP will also be providing PI training within a lab environment allowing for certification of the effort applied to their research projects during the training sessions. Two training sessions for the PI will be scheduled for the first week of February and March. Once the dates and location have been established an update will be sent out, along with the dates, place and time posted on the OSP website: Electronic Effort Distribution Report Training Announced
Overview: eEDR is a web-based system with electronic routing and email notification for updating and certifying effort. Effort reports are system generated for employees who are paid from sponsored projects. Effort certification is done semi-annually for all eligible employees. Before a form is certified it must be pre-reviewed by the Fund Manager assigned to the department/center. .Access is limited only to the Fund Managers pre-reviewing forms and the certifiers (PIs and faculty being paid from a sponsored project).
OSP looks forward to hearing any feedback or questions you may have.
