Graduate Academic Advisement Reports (Graduate AAR)

Transitioning from Programs of Study to the Graduate AAR

NAU’s Office of Graduate & Professional Studies (OGPS) has begun a multi-year project to replace Programs of Study with the Graduate AAR. At the completion of this project, the Graduate AAR will serve as the sole record used for degree tracking and graduation for all graduate programs. Before the Graduate AAR can officially replace the Program of Study, each program must complete a transitionary stage in which both the Graduate AAR and Program of Study will be required for graduation. This rollout will be implemented in waves, as shown in the table below.

(Table updated 11/21/24: timeline for Third-Wave programs to be determined)

Benefits of the Graduate AAR

  • Ensures students and advisors have a shared understanding of degree requirements and progress towards graduation.
  • Provides automatic tracking, allowing instantaneous access to up-to-date information.
  • Reduces time and workload required of students, staff, and faculty to apply for graduation.
  • Expedites degree awarding by up to 4-6 weeks.

Graduation Application Directions
