Timeline on your pathway to NAU

Timeline for Indigenous students

October

  • File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2020-2021 school year using NAU school code 001082.
  • Request a 2018 Parent Tax Transcript or a Non-Filing Letter if no taxes were filed in 2018. Save this document if student is selected for income verification by their college’s Financial Aid office. Student should continuously read their email sent to their college email address for updates regarding their financial aid status, etc.

January and February

  • Register to take the ACT and/or SAT, and have your test scores sent to NAU. Use ACT school code 0086 or SAT school code 4006.
  • Accept your offer of admission and pay your $350 enrollment deposit (new freshman) or $250 (new transfer student).
  • Enrolled members of an Arizona tribe living out of state: send a copy of your tribal card/student ID number to be considered for in-state tuition to:
    • Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation
      Northern Arizona University

  • Apply for priority housing by May 15. Applications are on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Complete online Priority Enrollment and state in the comment box if you are interested in the NASS Scholars program.
  • Register for a one-day NAU New Student Orientation sessions
  • APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS! Spring is the time to apply, apply, and apply!
  • Parents of students: visit the Federal Student Aid to learn about saving for college, learn about financial aid, etc.

March and April

  • Verify your citizenship or legal residency.
  • Provide immunization documentation.
  • Upload your JacksCard ID photo.
  • Apply to the Indige-Bridge to Success Program (if you will be a new Native freshmen this fall 2019 term).
  • Check on your financial aid status using the Applying for Aid Checklist.
  • APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS! Spring is the time to apply, apply, and apply!

May and June

  • Pay your $175 Fall Housing Rent Confirmation by May 15.
  • Your final, official high school transcript must be received before July 1 at:
    • Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation
