Supervisor Safety Resources

Supervisors juggle many responsibilities. One of your most important responsibilities involves helping the people you supervise work and learn safely. As the person who designs, directs, and oversees the daily activities in your area, no one is better qualified to do this than you. Whether you work in a lab, a workshop, a classroom, an office, or in the field, NAU can provide you with the resources you need to promote safe work and learning.

Any NAU employee who supervises students or other employees is required to complete the Supervisor Safety Training. During this training, you’ll learn about your specific safety responsibilities as a supervisor, the legal basis for those responsibilities, and how you can connect with resources here at NAU that will help you fulfill those responsibilities.

Once you complete that training, you’ll want to access some of the following resources discussed during the program:

  • Supervisor’s Safety Checklist
  • Online Supervisor Safety Training
  • Minors Policies
  • Online Report of Injury
  • Field Safety Program
  • Choosing Chemical-Resistant Gloves

Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Staff are available to assist you in the hazard assessment process and the selection of hazard controls.
