Safetyhub FAQ
What is Safetyhub? Accordion Closed
Safetyhub is a training management platform provided by the State of Arizona to all State agencies including NAU. This system provides access to a wide variety of general awareness safety training that can be used free of charge, and Safetyhub can be used to upload your in-shop safety training if you wish to automate it. When properly used, the platform provides record-keeping and reporting tools that can be valuable to supervisors. Records can also be uploaded to employee records or to the EHS BioRAFT/SciShield system as needed.
Does everyone at NAU have to participate in Safetyhub? Accordion Closed
All employees are enrolled in Safetyhub and have access to the content, but the majority of Safetyhub training is optional unless specified by a supervisor. Possible exceptions are NAU specific content that NAU EHS or individual departments upload for a specific group or subject. If this is the case you should receive an email from Safetyhub notifying you of the need to take the training.
Why am I receiving messages about “assigned training?” Accordion Closed
If you are receiving email from Safetyhub, your supervisor or NAU EHS have assigned training to you. If this is the case, the training was deemed a requirement for your particular work duties. If you feel that the assignment is in error please contact NAU EHS for guidance (nau.edu/ehs).
Can I access training that is not assigned to me? Accordion Closed
Safetyhub is accessible from the NAU EHS homepage (nau.edu/ehs). Log in with your CAS credentials and you will be able to see the entire training catalog. PLEASE NOTE: It is possible to “Review” the entire training video by simply logging in, but this does not confer training credit. If a training appears interesting we strongly recommend contacting EHS and requesting that it be assigned (this is an easy process) so that you will have access to the assessment, certificate, and training credit.
How do I retrieve my training record? Accordion Closed
Once you log in to Safetyhub using your NAU CAS credentials, select “My Safetyhub” in the yellow banner at the top of the page. This page contains a course overview with all of your assigned and completed courses. You can select the title of any completed course and get access to a printable certificate. REMEMBER: You only receive credit for training if it has been assigned (you can ask your supervisor or EHS to assign training) and you complete the assessment. “Previewing” a training by watching the video from the menu does not confer credit.
What happens if I change jobs or departments? Accordion Closed
The normal maintenance process should automatically keep your department information up to date if you move to a new role on campus. If you depart the university your account will be suspended but the records of your training will be kept and you can request a copy of them at any time.
How do I assign training to my employee? Accordion Closed
The training assignment process is simple and takes a few mouse clicks to complete. There is a tutorial in the Safetyhub menu on the EHS homepage that gives detailed instructions for assigning training. Or you can contact EHS for guidance and assistance. If you have trouble accessing your dashboard or the training tools in Safetyhub, please contact EHS to have your permission settings changed.
How do I add/remove employees to Safetyhub? Accordion Closed
You should not need to add or remove employees. This process is handled by EHS based on monthly reports from NAU HR. If you feel there is an error or you would like a staff (or student trainee) upload independent of this, contact EHS and we can provide a template for submitting the required information.
How do I access my employee’s training records? Accordion Closed
As a manager you can review/download training reports based on the participant or on the course title that you assigned. These are available in the “My Reports” section of your Safetyhub Dashboard. The Safetyhub tutorial contains detailed instructions and screenshots, or you can contact EHS if you need assistance.
