Minors Working & Learning at NAU

Northern Arizona University holds exciting learning opportunities for visiting minors. We welcome these visitors and make their safety our top priority.

Before a minor is eligible to participate in projects and activities at Northern Arizona University, the project supervisor or principal investigator (PI) or her/his designee must make sure the following forms are reviewed and submitted to the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.

The supervisor or PI or her/his designee must review and submit:

• Minors Policy
• Potential Hazards Form for Minors

The minor’s parent/legal guardian must review the following form and submit it to the Insurance Officer at NAU Property and Liability Insurance Services, PO Box 4067.

• Parental/Legal Guardian Consent Form

Pre-planning is key to this process as an EHS site visit will be required prior to project initiation. The supervisor, PI or her/his designee must also conduct and document site/project-specific training of the minor(s) prior to the commencement of the respective project.
