Campus Optics

Notice to Scishield Users:

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) has discontinued use of the compliance platform, Scishield, and will be transitioning to a new platform, Campus Optics, during the coming weeks.

Why are we changing platforms?

Campus Optics is a centralized, enterprise-wide platform that provides the functions and flexibility EHS needs to support a safe and compliant working and learning environment customized for NAU.

What is the timeline?

Access to Scishield has ended, and the go-live date for Campus Optics has not yet been determined. EHS will continue to provide inspections and other compliance services during this implementation period. Check this page frequently for further updates.

What will happen to my records in Scishield?

EHS staff has preserved all pertinent records from Scishield, including but not limited to inspection and training records, chemical inventories, space assignments and space-specific hazards. EHS will maintain those records and upload them into Campus Optics as part of the implementation process.

How do we access safety training courses during the Campus Optics implementation?

Online safety training modules previously hosted in SciShield are now hosted in Canvas and can be accessed via our Health and Safety Training webpage.

Where can I find additional information on this transition to Campus Optics?

EHS will provide support for platform users through each phase of the Campus Optics implementation. Look for phase-specific communication, updates and resource links from our team in the coming weeks.
