CCS is celebrating the 15 Comparative Cultural Studies students who presented at the 2025 Undergraduate Research Symposium held on April 25! Below are photos of all our fantastic students with their posters or oral presentations as they present their original research.
On April 11th, Dr. Becky Pratt-Sturges, Associate Teaching Professor of Museum Studies and Public Humanities, discussed her curatorial role for the “A Sense of Place” exhibition at the Clara M. Lovett Art Museum. The presentation discussed how the exhibition explores identity, community, and geography on the Colorado Plateau through contemporary art.
At this year’s College of Arts and Letters “CAL in Action” event, Comparative Cultural Studies was well-represented by three teams from the department! Each team demonstrated CCS’s dedication to not only community engagement and interdisciplinarity, but also projects that bring together faculty and students beyond the classroom. The Clara M. Lovett Humanities in Action Fund supports Public Humanities programming that advances the professional development of students and is community focused. Thanks to a generous grant from past NAU president Dr. Clara Lovett (1993-2001), the department of Comparative Cultural Studies will award two annual grants to teams of NAU faculty and students engaged in community-based public humanities projects.
