Liv SchremppLiv Schrempp

Research Assistant

Liv Schrempp is a Senior at NAU majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Law and minoring in Photography. They recently completed an Internship at the Arizona State Capital, as a Policy Intern with the House Democratic Caucus. On campus, they’ve been involved in a variety of organizations, including Mock Trial, Phi Alpha Delta, and the Arizona Students Association. Through their work with the Arizona Students Association, they developed their passion for activism and all the ways they can support their community. Within this organization they have been a part of many groups focused on improving Flagstaff as a whole and advocating for students rights across Arizona. Liv holds a 3.81 GPA and plans to graduate in 2027. Following their graduation, they hope to pursue a career in politics before ultimately attending law school.


Nayeli  Leal

Research Assistant

Nayeli Leal is a Junior at Northern Arizona University, majoring in Political Science with minors in Philosophy and Society & Law. Her research focuses on political opinion formation and discourse, with particular emphasis on immigration-related narratives. She employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with a primary focus on quantitative data analysis. Nayeli speaks Spanish and is currently learning Arabic. She has a 3.9 GPA, and plans to graduate in 2027, after which she intends to attend law school.


Emma  Rial

Research Assistant

Emma Rial is a sophomore at Northern Arizona University, majoring in Political Science (BS) with minors in Women & Gender Studies and Criminology & Criminal Justice. Emma is a Lumberjack Scholarship recipient and has been on the Dean’s List each semester at NAU. Her research interests include political opinion formation and discourse, related to the intersection of gender-based violence and reproductive coercion within domestic relationship frameworks. She studied abroad in South Africa and interned at the Pima County Attorney’s Office in Tucson, Arizona.  Emma is preparing to attend law school after she graduates in Spring 2028. Emma has a 4.0 grade point average.
