Interested in natural beauty? NAU is located perfectly to explore National Parks and our bordering states.
Zion National Park in Utah is a great place to visit. A four and a half hour drive will have you in one of the most spectacular National Parks. Zion is created from red and white sandstone cliffs that were formed as the Virgin River cut through the canyon.
Fun fact: The park is home to nearly 800 plant species and 79 different species of mammals. The park is also filled with 289 bird species, one of which is considered endangered, the California Condor.
If you find yourself surrounded by Zion’s natural beauty and enjoy the outdoors, then you should check out all the hikes that there are to do! They range from easy to strenuous and anywhere in between, so you can always find what is best for you.
One of my favorite hikes is the Emerald Pools. It is a great hike at the end of a long day. Happy Hiking!
Emerald Pools – This hike is a fairly easy hike for the entire family to participate in and is about a mile in length. Don’t let the length discredit the amazing views. The trails lead to several pools formed from the streams that run down the cliffs. It forms beautiful pools that resemble an Emerald color.
