If you’re bored on a weekend and find that you want to get outdoors and explore the Arizona scenery, then this challenging hike is definitely the way to go! There are so many out there, but this one really sets itself apart from the others.
Sugarloaf Peak is a relatively short (~2 miles) and beautiful hike that will leave you questioning yourself, “why didn’t I hike this sooner”. This is because the circle beauty that will surround you once you reach the summit. As you hike the 40 degree angled mountain, you won’t be able to help but look behind you at the snow-capped inner basin of the San Francisco Peaks (as seen in the picture above). Once you reach the top, you’ll be able to see all of the surrounding mountains, the San Francisco Peaks, the Wupatki National Forest, and even the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend this hike as it is beautiful, short, and challenging, yet very rewarding.
