Supplements can be an overwhelming topic of fitness. While I believe in trying to get as much nutrients from foods as possible, supplements can definitely be an added boost. Multivitamins are beneficial when taken regularly because not many of us are getting the proper amount of vitamins each day. You need proper daily intake of vitamins to build and to be in good general health. Protein shakes are very nice after workouts as your body needs protein after a workout to avoid breaking down muscle.
It’s important to consume amino acids to help aid in the breakdown of protein. Amino acids can be found in many berries or in supplement form. I personally enjoy berries and do not consume supplements for amino acids. Pre workouts are good for lifting but in my experience are not good for cardio workouts, unless you follow lifting with cardio after the majority of the caffeine is burnt off. Caffeine speeds up heart rate and also causes dehydration, both things do not help cardio. Pre workouts are great for lifting in my experience and can intensify a pump.
I have many stomach issues and take a few supplements that really help such as DGL, HCL, papaya enzyme and probiotics. The last supplement I take is MCT oil which helps your body use fat as an energy source and MCT oil it self is an immediate energy source. If you try MCT oil be sure to only take one small table spoon and build up to that to avoid it turning into an immediate laxative.
