I know what you must be thinking. Here we go again with pizza, do you ever eat anything that isn’t covered in cheese and marinara sauce and who gave you permission to write on an official blog for the school? While these are all completely valid questions, pizza is one of my favorite foods to eat and there are a whole lot of options here in Flagstaff. After trying NiMarcos I was hesitant to talk about yet another pizza joint, but I was reassured that Fratelli’s was worth it. They have been rated best pizza in Flagstaff every year since 2002, a rating that I was not even aware existed.
The restaurant atmosphere is very laid back and feels like it’s in a large city, rather than just off the campus of NAU. You order your food up front and just chill at a table with a number until your order arrives. When I went I just split a small pepperoni pizza and still went home satisfied, but I also ate beforehand so maybe I didn’t have my usual hunger. The pizza itself was crispy yet not overly so, plus the cheese was really stretchy. Overall it was a tasty experience, even though I only tried the most basic thing on the menu.
The price is pretty good, especially if you go with others so you can split the costs. A small pizza is about $12, but it also feeds two people pretty easily. There are also a lot of other things on the menu like calzones, appetizers, and salads. So if anyone reads this blog and hasn’t gotten tired of cheese and tomatoes on bread, then this is the place for you.
Fratelli’s has three different locations in Flagstaff, but the one that I went to is the closest being just off of North campus, right next to the hub. Their hours are really simple; it is open from 10:30 AM to 9 PM every day of the week so you should not be able to get confused about when to go in.
This will be my last entry of the semester, so good luck with finals and stay eating.
