As the semester is winding down and the holidays are coming up, I figured that now would be the perfect time to talk about holiday decorations for your room to put you in the holiday spirit. My essentials for this week involve the season of the holiday Thanksgiving. These items will make your dorm seem cozier and family friendly as well all reflect on what we are thankful for.
Number 1: Fall Wreath
I think fall wreaths are just the cutest and make your room look so inviting. My freshman year, I had a wreath on my door for every holiday and it made it feel like I was walking into a homey place every day, especially because my mom hangs a wreath on our door for every holiday. This little decoration can really sell the vibe of fall for your dorm as well as go with the beautiful weather that Northern Arizona gets during this time (unfortunately fall is leaving us a little early, but it is still fun). These wreaths can be super fun to make at home as well and then you can have your own personal twist on your festive wreath.
Number 2: Fall Scents
I know I talked about scents before but changing your scents with the season can really change the atmosphere of a space. I just recently changed my normal summer cotton scent out for a harvest pumpkin, and it has been the best decision, I walk into my apartment and it smells like I am walking into my Grandma’s on Thanksgiving day. Also, scents really help mask the smell of dirty laundry or trash that has not been taken out quite yet due to all the amounts of projects that are currently due for everyone. A fair warning though with the sense, depending on your diffuser, make sure you look at the diffuse setting. Trust me you do not want to walk into a scent bomb, take it from someone with experience.
The holidays are a time to feel comfortable and feel like you are home snuggled up in your favorite PJs doing your favorite holiday traditions. With these items having the Kaylee Stamp of Approval, the feeling of home should feel closer and closer.
