Faculty news: Dr. Marco Cabrera Geserick at Coconino Center for the Arts

Posted by adl245 on April 16, 2024

CCS Assistant Professor of Humanities and Latin American Studies Dr. Marco Cabrera Geserick recently presented with Chilean artist Dr. Francisco González Castro for the opening of the exhibit “FRANCISCO GONZÁLEZ CASTRO: BODIES, LIMITS & TRANSGRESSIONS” at the Coconino Center for the Arts on April 15, 2024. The presentation  discussed the artist’s philosophy, which confronts the body, people who reject the body, and how the body is approached as subject and identity in his creative practice that utilizes video, performance art, and drawing. Dr. Cabrera Geserick provided broader Latin American political and geographical context on the topics that González Castro is pursuing in his work.

Explore the exhibit at the Coconino Center for the Arts until June 8, 2024. Learn more at https://coconinoarts.org/all-exhibitions/.
