Dr. Cabrera Geserick Keynote Speaker at Napoleonic Historical Society Conference 2024

Posted by Karyn on November 25, 2024

Dr. Marco Cabrera Geserick, the Latin American Studies Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Humanities, was recently invited as a keynote speaker for the Napoleonic Historical Society conference this year, which was held in Mexico City at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico. The event began at the Mexico City campus of the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey (the Mexican version of MIT), where speakers were welcomed by masked students (pictured below). At the Hotel, Dr. Cabrera Geserick gave the opening keynote speech on the Napoleonic Era and Latin America. His talk helped connect the topic of Napoleon with the event’s location in Mexico City, which was extremely important for conference goers and was one of the many positive comments he received on his speech. As part of the activities, The Napoleonic Historical Society requested Dr. Cabrera Geserick become a board member of the Society, and he accepted. Next year, the conference will be in San Diego, CA.Dr. Cabrera Geserick poses in front of the stained glass ceiling of the Gran Hotel.
