Internship resources

NAU Career Development supports internships

The Internship Coordinator provides a centralized point of contact for internship providers, students, faculty, and staff to successfully navigate NAU’s internship and experiential learning system.

What is an internship?

An internship is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting. Internships give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths; and give employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent.

Successful internships are strong partnerships

A successful internship is a partnership between NAU, the internship site, and the student that provides a hands-on opportunity to apply and strengthen the student’s education. Successful internships benefit everyone, allowing students to collaborate closely with faculty, and strengthen ties between the college and the community.
