FAQ
Why can’t I get overtime (OT) even if I have requested to use a sick/vacation day? Accordion Closed
Overtime can only be accrued after you have physically worked 40 regular hours in a single week. Sick/vacation hours do not count towards your regular work hours and any overtime worked will only be paid out at 1.0x/hour until the 40 regular work hours have been met and then overtime will be paid at 1.5x/hour.
What do I do if my paycheck is short on hours? Accordion Closed
Check that your time entry for the pay period is correct. You, your supervisor, or your supervisor’s proxy may adjust your time sheet going back two pay periods. Once the adjustment has been made, the supervisor will need to re-approve. Exceptions will be generated when approved time has been removed. If time needs to be adjusted more than two pay periods ago, please contact the payroll office.
Can I submit my regular work hours for future pay periods? Accordion Closed
No, you can only enter in hours worked for the current pay period. Any future working hours will be deleted. You can, however, enter in future requested time off.
How do I request a pay raise for one of my employees? Accordion Closed
Discuss the pay raise with your department head. If approved, fill out the Classified Staff/Service Professional Title and Salary Change Request form and send to Human Resources for review and approval. Create an ePAR for job change through the Employee Service Center.
How do I get approval to hire a new employee? Accordion Closed
Fill out the Justification for hire OnBase form and include a job description. This form will route to the proper approvers and will eventually be reviewed by the Position Review Committee. If approved, CaPCOT Employee Services will notify the requester to initiate post and recruit for a staff position ticket through the Employee Service Center.
What do I do if I cannot see my employee in PeopleSoft to approve their time? Accordion Closed
