Screen readers
Why are screen readers important?
A screen reader is a tool to help people with varying types of visual impairments or blindness to interact with the information being presented through a digital interface, such as a computer, kiosk, tablet, or smartphone. By creating digital products that are labeled correctly and navigable, you do more than provide access to one set of users. You also help create a more usable product for all to use. Many of the things that are done to be compatible with a screen reader also help keyboard only users and touchscreen users. When done properly, they also create a more welcoming interface that will be more usable for all people coming into contact with the interface. The more intuitive a product is, the more users will want to interact with it.
