Convey meaning by other means

Color cannot be the only means used to convey meaning

As you could see from the different color usage, color can have a dramatic affect on the usability of a page or image.  Color alone cannot be used to convey meaning.  If you use color to distinguish items, make sure you have another way to provide those distinctions as well.
