Congratulations Maxwell Weiss and Isaiah Shipley for receiving the NAU/NASA space grant (Fall 2021-Spring 2022).
Maxwell and Isaiah are the third-year undergraduate students in Dr. Daphne Chen’s research lab, who has been showed a great interests and potentials in conducting the cutting-edge research.
The project being funded will be focused on the neural network implementations and epidermal sensory systems towards the outer space challenges.

Dr. Vigil-Hayes is partnering with teachers and parents at STAR School to design and develop the Digital Backpack (DigiPack), an opportunistic content delivery system and mobile application that allows students living on Navajo Nation to engage with digital learning content at home even when Internet connectivity is slow, intermittent, or non-existent. This project is funded under Stage I of the competitive NSF CIVIC Innovation program.

NAU researchers Emery Eaves, Regents’ Professor Robert T Trotter II, Eck Doerry, and Julie Baldwin have been working on a one-year, $293,000 project, funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, to use rapid assessment, response and evaluation (RARE) methods to document both barriers and facilitators to implementation of the temporary guidelines for SUD treatment during COVID-19.
