Research compliance

Research compliance helps ensure research is conducted safely, ethically, and in accordance with university, state, and federal regulations. Human research protection program

A project requires IRB review if the study meets both the federal definitions of research and human subjects.

Animal care

NAU’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) oversees the university’s animal care and use program and is responsible for reviewing all animal care protocol applications using vertebrate animals, ensuring compliance with federal animal welfare regulations, inspecting animal facilities and investigator laboratories, investigating animal concerns, and overseeing training and educational programs.
