Graduate students may schedule DATA (Dissertation, Article, Thesis Appointments) to schedule 5 consecutive appointments with the same Writing Assistant to focus on a specific aspect of a dissertation, article, thesis, or graduate project. Contact us to schedule.

Who will help me? Accordion Closed
DATA students are generally paired with one of our PhD-level Writing Assistants, but we may pair them with one of our MA- or MFA-level Writing Assistants depending on availability. Most of our Writing Assistants are Graduate Teaching Assistants from the University Writing Program. All are trained in writing support as part of their onboarding.
What if I don’t need 5 appointments? Accordion Closed
We generally offer DATA in increments of 5 sessions, but you don’t have to use all 5. You can cancel sessions by contacting us at writingcenter@nau.edu or calling 928-523-7745.
Can DATA fix my formatting? Accordion Closed
DATA is not a copyediting service but can help guide you through correct formatting.
