Financial support is needed to cover:

• Reasonable Accommodations – To make the fair fully accessible to all attendees, we need support to cover the costs associated with providing sign language interpreters, CART (real-time transcription), brailled handouts, and other accommodations.
• Refreshments – We like to serve light refreshments to guests (e.g., cookies/baked goods, lemonade, and iced tea), but we need support to cover those costs.
• Additional Activities & Fun – We host inclusive activities (such as adaptive arts and crafts) on-site. Additional family-friendly games and activities (such as face painting and animal balloons) will be added if funding is made available.

Sponsored and managed by NAH Children’s Health Center, the sensory room provides quiet space away from all of the action in our vibrant exhibit hall.

Launched in 2024, the Northern Arizona Disability Resource Fair is a community event focused specifically on resources available locally to the Northern Arizona disability community. The event was developed in response to requests from members of the community who noted that, in Arizona, disability resource fairs have historically been held in the Phoenix area. This made it difficult for many families to attend due to travel. Additionally, Valley-based fairs often feature disability resources that do not offer services in Northern Arizona.

To address this need, a group of Northern Arizona-based disability organizations, led by Sarah Dorman of Care 4 the Caregivers and Sara Clancey from the Institute for Human Development, created a planning committee. Their goal was to launch the inaugural event with the hope of turning the Northern Arizona Disability Resource Fair into an annual tradition—one that provides the local disability community with the opportunity to find helpful resources and to network with each other.

The event proved to be highly successful in both 2024 and 2025:

• Exhibit tables sold out both years
• The Fair drew over 150 attendees across all disabilities and age groups in 2024, and over 200 attendees in 2025.
• The feedback from both attendees and exhibitors was enthusiastic, with comments including:
  “It was awesome. I enjoyed this Fair.”
  “Welcoming atmosphere; amazing resources; gave me hope.”
  “Overall, you all were amazing, and I hope next year we are even 20% bigger.”

Building on this success, we are planning for an even bigger event in 2026. The planning committee has expanded to include representatives from six disability-related Northern Arizona organizations:

• Care 4 the Caregivers
• The Institute for Human Development at Northern Arizona University
• Flagstaff Unified School District – Exceptional Student Services
• High Country Adaptive Sports
• Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Children’s Health Center
• Quality Connections

 Expanded Space allows for 20% more exhibitors and sponsors, expanding our lineup to 40+ resources.

• Additional Fun Activities such as face painting.
