Advanced Research Computing
Advanced Research Computing (ARC) at NAU facilitates access and support of High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources and associated technologies supporting computationally demanding or transformational research at NAU. Some of these resources and technologies include support for “big-data” issues, data science consulting/development, secure computing (CUI, HIPAA, ITAR), and large data storage.
ARC’s HPC jewel named monsoon is available for researchers conducting funded or un-funded research. Cluster resources are generally free to faculty, staff, and students (with a sponsor). Initially acquired as part of the development of the campus-wide Informatics and Computing Program, the HPC cluster can be utilized to address complex research questions across many disciplines, including biology, climate science, behavioral sciences, humanities, education, genetics, and astronomy.
