Lifelong learning through NAU Road Scholar
The Road Scholar® program at NAU began offering educational travel programs throughout the greater Southwest in 1983. Since its inception the program has hosted over 110,000 adult participants from across the country, exposing them to regional wonders with the guidance of staff and faculty from Northern Arizona University. Annual enrollments average 4,000.
In the American Southwest, a saguaro cactus stands sentry over a desert jackrabbit. An abandoned cliff dwelling is a reminder of Native American heritage. At sunset, the red-rock landscape glows as if plugged in. Led by expert instructors and leaders affiliated with Northern Arizona University, be immersed in history, culture, and geography as you discover this idyllic region’s national parks, urban centers, and off-the-beaten-path locales by foot, rail, raft, coach, and camera.
