Internship opportunity at the Arizona Philharmonic for spring 2024

Intern with the Arizona Philharmonic next semester!

Arizona Philharmonic is a professional regional orchestra based in Prescott, AZ. AZ Phil is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to embody artistic excellence and inspire the growth of symphonic music through diversity in genre, programming, collaboration, audiences, and musicians. AZ Phil is excited to offer an internship opportunity to students at NAU for 1, 2, and 3 credit enrollment. Although this is a non-paid internship, students will be offered gas reimbursement for traveling to in-person events.

NAU students have the opportunity to choose from one of three tracks to complete an internship with AZ Phil. Each option is available for 1, 2, or 3 credit hour enrollment. Students will work with the Executive Director of AZ Phil for all internship responsibilities. • Event Management
  1. Assists with event planning, and implementation for concerts, and other events. Will work with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, and Volunteer Coordinator.
  2. Develops leadership, teamwork, written/verbal communication, problem-solving and organizational skills within the framework of a non-profit arts organization.
  3. Will require an in-person component for the event, but otherwise will be remote work.
• Marketing Assistant
  1. Will assist Marketing Manager and Executive Director with marketing, including fundraising campaigns, design creation, writing, social media content, and ticket sale campaigns.
  2. Develops critical thinking, creativity, team work, written/verbal communication, problem-solving and organizational skills within the framework of a non-profit arts organization.
  3. Can be completed remotely.
• Executive Assistant
  1. Assists Executive Director with daily and weekly operational tasks, including but not limited to: updating operational online folders, drives, managing data and learning how to track it, seeking out additional local organizations for leads on partnerships, assisting with other tasks as needed.
  2. Develops teamwork, written/verbal communication, problem-solving and organizational skills within the framework of a non-profit arts organization.
  3. Can be completed remotely, with the option of attending events in-person.
• Graphic Design
  1. Will create graphic design for projects as requested by the Marketing Manager and Executive Director, including: invitations, concert slideshows, banner design, concert programs, advertisements, social media graphics, etc.
  2. Will assist Marketing Manager with other content creation as requested
  3. Develops critical thinking, creativity, team work, written/verbal communication, problem-solving and organizational skills within the framework of a non-profit arts organization.
  4. Can be completed remotely.
