The responsibility of the Contracts unit is to review, draft, negotiate, execute, and provide assistance to departments for management of university contracts, except under the following circumstances:
- Contracts for sponsored Projects are processed by and signed in the Office of Sponsored Projects.
- Standard NAU student teach agreements, internships and externships are signed by the Dean.
- Non-standard NAU student teaching, internship and externship agreements are submitted to the Contracts unit to be processed prior to signature by the Office of the Provost.
Guided by the University’s Contract Signature Policy, individuals who have limited signature authority are authorized to sign only the agreement types as have been delegated and after appropriate review by the Office of General Counsel or Contracts, Purchasing and Risk Management.
