The responsibility of the Contracts unit is to review, draft, negotiate, execute, and provide assistance to departments for management of university contracts that are not associated with Sponsored Projects, student teaching programs, internships, externships or in those cases where signature authority has been delegated by the President.
Contracts that are associated with Sponsored Projects are processed by and signed in the Office of Sponsored Projects. Standard NAU student teaching agreements, internships and externships are typically signed by the Dean. Non-standard NAU student teaching, internship and externship agreements should be forwarded to the office of Legal Affairs for review prior to signature by the Office of the Provost. Individuals that have limited signature authority are authorized to sign only the agreements types as have been delegated by the President, all other contract types should be forwarded to Contracting and Purchasing Services for processing and signature.
