Equity and Access – Office of the President
The Equity and Access Office is responsible for overseeing compliance for a wide variety of federal/state laws and university policies that address equal opportunity in employment and education.

Asian Studies
The interdisciplinary minor in Asian Studies is six courses (18 hours minimum), selected in consultation with an Asian Studies advisor.

Center for International Education
The International Office acts as a service to students who are on exchange either in the United States or abroad.  They work with each student to enhance their cultural experience.

Commission on Disability Access and Design
The Commission on Disability Access and Design works to increase collaboration with the university community to create a welcoming, supportive and inclusive university community free from physical and attitudinal barriers to services, programs, and activities.

The Commission on Native Americans
The NAU Commission on Native Americans considers, evaluates and analyzes all matters pertaining to Native Americans at Northern Arizona University, establish goals and priorities for these matters, engage Native American faculty, staff, students on these matters, disseminate and share the information, and most importantly advise the President on these matters.

The Commission on the Status of Women
The NAU Commission on the Status of Women was appointed on February 19, 1991, to act as a clearinghouse for women’s issues on campus and to provide informed recommendations to the President in order to ensure a campus environment in which the full participation of women is supported and the contributions of women valued.

Elementary Spanish Program
Everything you need to start learning Spanish is ready and waiting for you from the award-winning Elementary Spanish programs created by Educational Systems Programming at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. These innovative distance learning programs are easy to implement, cost-effective, and open the door to the exciting world of the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures for young people.

Ethnic Studies Program
The Ethnic Studies Minor serves a distinct function within the larger curricular offerings of Northern Arizona University. The minor has responsibility for providing the undergraduate student population with the critical understanding that ours is a complex multicultural society, made up of many ethnic, gender, and class differences.  The overall education experience provides students with the opportunity to find significance and meaning living within a complex multiracial and multicultural nation.

Inclusion: Multicultural and LGBTQIA Services
Inclusion: Multicultural and LGBTQIA Services provides a number of services for the students at NAU, including academic guidance, financial aid guidance, counseling, tutoring assistance and referral, a resource library, and administrative support.

Native American Student Services
NASS provides culturally sensitive support services (academic & financial aid guidance, peer mentorship, cultural connections) to NAU Native American and Alaskan Native students. Major focus is on first-year freshmen and transfer students to guide students in making a successful transition from home to the university environment.

Northern Arizona University President’s diversity initiative
A clearinghouse of information about diversity-related curriculum, organizations, opportunities and events important to the NAU community.

Southwest Studies Program
As part of the revitalized Southwest Studies Minor – an interdisciplinary program that examines relationships between people and the places in the Southwest, it will provide students from all backgrounds with the opportunity to study the region from environmental socio-cultural, humanistic, and inter-disciplinary perspectives.

Women’s and Gender Studies Program
The Women’s and Gender Studies program presently reports to the Office of the Provost. The Program is an interdisciplinary unit and participates in the life of most of the colleges and schools, but is not resident in any one of them.

Center for Research on Education, Diversity & Excellence (CREDE)
The purpose of CREDE’s research is to identify and develop effective educational practices for linguistic and cultural minority students, and those placed at risk by factors of race, poverty, and geographic location.
