What does g2p2pop mean? This is an abbreviation for our goal of modeling genomes to phenomes to populations in a changing climate. Genomes to phenomes to populations=g2p2pop
Welcome to the g2p2pop Research Coordination Network
The g2p2pop RCN is funded by the National Science Foundation.
The primary aim of the Research Coordination Network (RCN) is to assemble a diverse, interdisciplinary, multi-institutional, multinational network of scientists to tackle the following question:
How will populations and species of vertebrates respond to a changing climate?
Because of the inherent complexities of the biological hierarchy and need for mechanism-based prediction, a central theme to this effort is developing mechanistic models to extrapolate key processes across levels of organization.
To this end, we are establishing a new collaborative network of modelers and empirical biologists to address a grand challenge in biology, “Deciphering the Genomes-to-Phenomes (g2p) Relationship,” and extending to the population level.
Network expertise will span from genomes to populations and will include quantitative modelers at all levels of biological organization. Central to our approach is inculcating students and junior researchers with a new understanding of the interrelationships across the biological hierarchy.
