Field trips
BioCrust 3 participants have the opportunity to visit local attractions on Wednesday, September 28, which has no scheduled workshop activities. Optional field trips have been organized for workshop participants that highlight the region’s natural beauty and emphasis on outdoor recreation. Field trips, which are available for an additional cost, will be filled on a first-come, first served basis.
Colorado River Raft Trip
Full-day raft trip on the Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River, which includes moderate class I and class II runs. Both rafts and inflatable kayaks will be used, so you can try out different boats. This guided trip takes you through a stunning stretch of the river and includes a riverside picnic lunch. Cost: $90 per person (includes lunch, taxes, and gratuity). Tour service: Canyon Voyages Adventures Company
Half-day Canyoneering Adventure
Canyoneering is one of the most exciting ways to experience the desert landscape. Enjoy the beauty of Utah’s canyons with patient guides who will teach you the techniques needed to descend into narrow canyons using ropes. A beautiful hike is included in the trip. If you can hike, you can go Canyoneering. Helmet, harness, belay device, locking carabiner, Deuter Backpack, and gloves are included in the field trip fee. You can rent 5.10 rock climbing shoes for $5. Cost: $115 per person (includes shuttle, taxes, and gratuity). Tour Service: Windgate Adventures
