Request Classroom Access
The Advanced Research Computing team supports the use of HPC resources in the classroom to aid in teaching HPC, AI, ML, and other related concepts that require intense computational resources!
Use of Monsoon resources in the classroom involves interacting with Linux and the Slurm scheduler, even when utilizing our Open Ondemand service. This can be daunting at first and will require a workshop or two to get the students up to speed to do anything useful outside of just running code on our login nodes.
Running developed binaries and scripts on the login nodes should only be done for short debugging purposes, and not for the purpose of avoiding using Slurm and Monsoon’s compute nodes to complete an assignment.
The student will be required to go through atleast our self-paced introduction workshop. The instructor can request that our team perform an additional in-person workshop to drive home the concepts.
You must submit a request for classroom access and it must be done at least two weeks before the resources are to be used. This is to ensure that the resources are provisioned correctly for your class! Thank you!
