NAU Curry Summer Music Camp

Tuesday, June 16 – Saturday, June 20

Join the NAU Curry Summer Music Camp once again for our 5-day, musical mountain experience for choir, band, and orchestra students from Arizona and all around the Southwestern United States. NAU’s Curry Camp offers the opportunity to receive world-class music instruction from elite musicians, and to rehearse and perform in NAU’s Ardrey Auditorium on our Flagstaff Mountain Campus.

Important Camp Information


Please review the information below to ensure that you are aware of the deadlines and policies in place regarding Curry Summer Music Camp.

The registration process Accordion Closed

To register for the 2026 Curry Summer Music Camp, the following must be completed:

Register through Active Network

Registration for Curry Summer Music Camp runs through our Active Network Portal. Registration will require a $60 non-refundable deposit (see “refund policy” below).

It is important that students complete all aspects of the registration questionnaire. Failure to do so may result in the student being placed in classes they do not wish to be in.

Important registration questions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Allergy or Medication Information
  • Needed Accomodations
  • Elective Class Selections
  • Roommate Requests
  • Curry Shirt Size
Confirm your Registration through the Confirmation Email

Once you have completed the registration, you will receive a confirmation email from “noreply@active.com.”

This confirmation email should come fairly quickly, so please check your spam folder if you do not see it within 10 minutes of completing your registration. It is important that you read through the entirety of the confirmation email.

Complete the Supplemental Forms

In your confirmation email you will find links to the required Supplemental Forms. These forms should be uploaded to your Active Network account once they have been filled out. The forms include:

  • Curry Handbook (acknowledgement of having read through the Handbook, last page)
  • Assumption of Risk Waiver & Release Form
  • Behavioral Expectations Form
  • Image Release Form
  • One-on-One Interaction Form
  • Permission to Travel Form (optional)

Important dates and deadlines Accordion Closed

Thursday, January 1st:

Registration opens for the 2026 Curry Summer Music Camp.

Friday, May 8th:

Registration and $60 deposit deadline.
Registration is open until either all spots are filled, or the deadline date of May 8th passes.

Any registrations after we fill capacity or after May 8th will automatically be placed on a waiting list. Registrants on the waiting list will be notified no later than Wednesday, May 27th if there is a spot for them in the camp. If no spots are open at this time, waitlist registrations will be cancelled. Please see our waitlist policy.

Monday, May 25th:

Payment-in-Full deadline for all camp fees.
Payments must be submitted through the Active Network Portal above by no later than 5pm Arizona Time.

Failure to meet the Payment-in-Full deadline will result in a forfeiture of your spot to a waitlisted student and/or cancellation of your registration. The $60 deposit will not be refunded if your registration is cancelled due to failure to meet this deadline.

Cancellation deadline for a full refund.
May 25th is the last day to cancel and receive a full refund of camp fees, excluding the non-refundable $60 registration deposit. Please see our refund policy.

Refund policy Accordion Closed

Refunds will be processed through Active Network onto the card used during registration. Refunds are available up until Monday, May 25th for all fees excluding the non-refundable $60 registration deposit. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after May 25th baring exceptional circumstances.

In the event that an attendee is dismissed from the camp, all fees will be forfeited over to the Curry Summer Music Camp. Grounds for dismissal can be found in the Curry Handbook (available once registered).

In the event of a registration cancellation on the part of the Curry Summer Music Camp (not including dismissals), all expenses will be refunded in full to the card used to register through Active Network.

Waitlist policy Accordion Closed

Students who are placed on the waitlist either due to a lack of open spots or due to missing the deadline date of May 8th will not be charged any fees until their registration is transferred from the waitlist onto the active roster.

Students will only be added onto the roster if:

1. A spot has opened up due to cancellation or failure to meet the Payment-in-full deadline of May 25th;

2. The waitlisted student has completed all other aspects of the registration, including the registration forms;

3. Students are able to pay in full for the camp fees by no later than Friday, May 29th.

If on Wednesday, May 27th there are still no open spots for the camp, all students who are on the waitlist will have their registration cancelled.

Enrollment and eligibility Accordion Closed

Enrollment is open for all students who are going into school grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 in the Fall of 2026. Registration will require students to list their anticipated grade level and the school which they will be attending.

Check-In Day (Tuesday, June 16) Accordion Closed

Dorm Check-In

Students will check-in at Gabaldon Hall on a staggard arrival schedule:

  • Band Students: Between 12:00pm – 1:30pm
    • must be ready to for chair placements by 2:00pm
  • String Students: Between 1:00pm – 2:00pm
    • must be ready to for chair placements by 2:30pm
  • Choral Students: Between 1:30pm – 2:30pm
    • must be ready to for chair placements by 3:00pm
Large Instruments

Students with large instruments will check-in at Gabaldon Hall first and will then be allowed to drive their instrument over to Kitt Recital Hall. We will have Curry Counselors waiting to monitor the instruments until the student arrives for chair placements. If you do not wish to drop off your instrument, then the student is expected to carry the instrument from Gabaldon Hall to Kitt Recital Hall.

Chair Placements

Chair placements will be based on the material listed in the Curry Handbook (available upon registration), and will take place in the Performing & Fine Arts Building/ Kitt Recital Hall area. Students will walk to chair placements as a group once check-in has been completed.

  • Band Students: Depart Gabaldon Hall at 2:00pm
  • String Students: Depart Gabaldon Hall at 2:30pm
  • Choral Students: Depart Gabaldon Hall at 3:00pm
Dinner

The first meal as a Curry Camper will be dinner, hosted at NAU’s Hot Spot in the Student Union.

Curry Welcome Event

After dinner, students will head back to Kitt Recital Hall for our Curry Kick-Off Event. Here, students will meet their counselors, teachers, and fellow students, and will be given details on what to expect for the rest of the week.

Return to the Dorms

Students will return to Gabaldon Hall by 8:00pm, where they will participate in a small meet-and-greet with their assigned counselors. After that, they have until 10:00pm to settle into their dorms and finish getting ready for the week.

Commuter Campers should be picked up from Gabaldon Hall by 9:30pm, but no earlier than 8:00pm
