Flagstaff Piano Festival is an immersive experience bringing together young pianists, educators, celebrated artists, and music lovers in the inspiring setting of Flagstaff on the campus of Northern Arizona University. The Festival invites young pianists (high-school and college students), piano teachers, and auditors of all ages to a week-long Academy that includes opportunities to practice and perform in lessons, faculty and guest masterclasses, performance classes, young artist concerts, and the FPF Competition. Tuition includes access to daily concerts by distinguished guest artists.

In addition to performance preparation, the FPF Academy offers seminars on topics ranging from career goals to piano technique, performance anxiety, and competition/audition preparation. Drawing from Flagstaff’s unique history and geographical setting, the FPF Academy promotes the outdoors and a healthy living-learning environment that includes hiking and visits to local attractions.

Piano teachers whose students attend the FPF Academy will be invited to be an integral part of Flagstaff Piano Festival, by collaborating with FPF Faculty in identifying relevant piano pedagogy topics for Piano Immersion Day on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Teachers’ attendance and contribution to Piano Immersion Day is free and includes designing and participating in a round-table panel and a stage program in Kitt Recital Hall, focused on engaging both music and non-music students and teachers.

Application deadline April 15, 2026 for partial scholarship consideration; May 31, 2026 final application deadline. More details at www.flagstaffpianofestival.com. For inquiries about Flagstaff Piano Festival, contact Dr. Silvan Negruțiu at Silvan.Negrutiu@nau.edu.
