2021 CASA for Kids’ Giving Tree Program

Posted by McKenzie on November 19, 2021

Greetings, One and All!

Your opportunity to participate in the 2021 Staff Advisory Council Holiday Service Project Coconino CASA for Kids’ Giving Tree Program begins TODAY!

Last year we supported 19 children by donating 57 gifts to the Giving Tree Program. This year our goal is to support 25 children with 75 unwrapped gifts. Please consider contributing one or more gifts this year (Walmart gift card donations in the amount of $25 also accepted).

Do you need more information? We get it. This Coconino CASA for Kids’ Giving Tree Program supports abused, neglected, and abandoned children, youth, and young adults of Coconino County who have been removed from their homes and are Wards of the State. By supporting the Giving Tree Program, our hope is to ensure 25 children receive three gifts (valued at $25-$30 per gift, $75-$100 per child total), so they can experience the spirit of the holidays.

Wondering how YOU can be a part of the gift giving? Please visit https://bit.ly/NAUGivingTree to sign up, print gift tags, and learn where and when to drop-off your gifts. Instructions are also listed below as reference.

Please don’t worry, if you are not able to purchase gifts this year, you can still help. Please support the cause by getting the word out by word-of-mouth or posting the attached flyer (please contact Stephanie for accessible communications as needed) as appropriate in your office or on your department community boards.

Should you have questions about the Giving Tree Project, please contact Stephanie Del Giorgio at stephanie.delgiorgio@nau.edu or 928-523-5815.

Let’s demonstrate the AMAZING NAU giving SPIRIT and make a DIFFERENCE TOGETHER!

Instructions (also listed in Google Sheet: https://bit.ly/NAUGivingTree)

1) Please add your name and email address to each item you will donate. You can select one or more children or gift items. There is a separate section at the bottom of this sheet for gift card purchases. To have equitable gift distribution, we are requesting each Wish Item be approximately $25-$30. If all lines are full or if it is more convenient for you, please consider contributing a $25 Walmart gift card by filling out the gift card section below and bringing your gifts cards to the drop-off locations.

2) Print the Donation Tag on the second tab, and write in the line #, child’s initials, age, and initials and the caseworker’s name for each gift you buy. Tape the tag to the unwrapped gift, so the CASA team can match up all donations. Again, please do not wrap your gift.

3) You have three options for dropping off gifts (please refer to the third tab for drop-off location maps):

  • December 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. drive through drop-off at the Institute for Human Development Building (#27A) at the main entrance, which can be accessed from parking lot P13 (map provided in email);
  • December 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. drive through drop-off in front of the Facility Services Building (#77) near the main entrance, which can be accessed from parking lot P64 (map provided in email); or
  • If either of these times do not work for you, please coordinate a time with Claire Kerata at claire.kerata@nau.edu or 928-523-5246, and our team will pick-up your gifts from an agreed upon location on or before December 7th.
