Faculty funding

NAU provides intramural research funding to seed and support innovative ideas, build faculty competitiveness for external grants, and accelerate the development of high-impact research and scholarly programs. These programs support early-stage projects, pilot data generation, interdisciplinary collaborations, and student-engaged scholarship, with the goal of enabling faculty to strengthen proposals, establish new research directions, and translate discoveries into external funding, new partnerships, and societal impact.

Bridge Funding

Bridge Funding helps support faculty researchers impacted by increased animal care rate increases.

Faculty Reserve Benefit

The Research Faculty Reserve Benefit supports eligible faculty by providing continued access to research resources during periods of reduced external funding. The program helps sustain research activity and maintain research continuity across ongoing projects.

Faculty Research and Creative Activity Support Grants provide internal funding to help faculty develop pilot data and advance research or creative projects for future external funding opportunities.
