Ceded review


All research applications must be submitted to the IRB through IRBNet, an externally hosted software product. All IRB forms must be obtained from the IRBNet Forms and Templates library.

Application to request that IRB oversight be deferred to a non-NAU IRB.

Ceded review submission

Items required for ceded reviews

  1. Complete and upload the Ceded Review Form.
  2. Complete and upload the List of Project Personnel listing NAU personnel only.
  3. Approval letter from the reviewing institution.
  4. Original approved application from the reviewing institution.
  5. Original approved informed consent from the reviewing nstitution.
  6. Share your project with the NAU IRB Office, granting “Full” access.
  7. The PI must sign the package. Tip: Student projects must be signed by the faculty advisor as well as by the student PI.
  8. Submit the package by clicking the “Submit” button in IRBNet. Select “New Project” from the “Submission Type” dropdown options.

  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) Authorization Agreement or Investigator Agreement.
  • Access instructional videos for guidance on IRB submissions, review processes, and human research requirements.
