Meet our Team
Roger Bounds is the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and a Professor in the Department of Health Sciences. After serving two years as interim Dean for the College of Health and Human Services, Dr. Bounds is returning to his previous role as Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs. He has also served as Chair for the Department of Health Sciences and was a member of the Executive Committee for the Academic Chairs council. Roger has been a faculty member at NAU since 2002 and believes equitable access to the value of high quality post-secondary education is fundamental to the success of society. From his various leadership roles in higher education, he works to support a diverse group of engaged, well-supported, and accountable faculty to empower a new generation of students to change lives, improve and diversify communities, and make the world a better place.
Dr. Sara R. Rinfret is currently an Associate Vice Provost, Faculty Affairs and Professor of Public Administration at Northern Arizona University. She has more than a decade of higher education leadership experience serving in roles such as Acting Dean, Associate Dean, Chair, and Master of Public Administration Director. Her scholarship is globally recognized in the areas of regulatory policy, environmental policy, women and government, public administration, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. To date, Rinfret has published several books and peer-reviewed articles, and book chapters. Rinfret is an experienced leader, designing training and development for faculty, staff, and students focusing on areas such as emotional labor, performance measurement approaches, program evaluation, policy implementation, and holistic teaching evaluations. She is the recipient of the Fulbright Specialist Program in public administration and studied with scholars at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. Dr. Rinfret holds an MPA from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs (Ohio State), and PhD in political science from Northern Arizona University.
Dr. Rinfret is committed to providing pathways of success for NAU’s faculty, staff, and students and appreciates working across disciplines to find solutions for higher education.
Amy Rushall serves as Assistant Vice Provost, Teaching and Learning Center and Teaching Professor for Mathematics and Statistics
Amy has been at NAU since 1998 as faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. She has served as course coordinator for MAT 125 Precalculus and as Interim Director of the Lumberjack Mathematics Center. In 2019, she became the Director of the Faculty Professional Development Program and today oversees the NAU Teaching and Learning Center with a focus on new faculty orientation and professional learning for faculty at all stages.
Crystal Graziano currently serves as Manager of Business Intelligence and Operations, working at the Office of the Provost for eight years and at NAU for twelve years. She earned her masters degree in Mathematics at NAU and masters degree in Operations Research & Information Engineering at Cornell University. Around Flagstaff, Crystal enjoys hiking, trivia, and karaoke.
Sam Yingling serves as Business Intelligence Analyst for Faculty Affairs. He earned his bachelors in economics and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business Analytics. He enjoys serving the faculty affairs team and NAU by providing insights on faculty life cycle data and by administering the Courseval and Faculty 180 (FAAR and RPT) platforms.
