The Vice Provost for Teaching, Learning Design and Assessment (VP-TLDA) works in collaboration with academic leaders to provide leadership, coordination and support for the teaching and learning mission of NAU. The units, programs, and processes in the VP-TLDA area advance excellence in student learning by providing students and faculty with opportunities and resources that promote student academic success.
The VP-TLDA oversees a range of faculty support programs including the Teaching and Learning Center, Interdisciplinary Writing Program, First Year Learning Initiative, and the Office of Curriculum, Learning Design, and Academic Assessment. The VP-TLDA units also provide support for academic program review, curriculum, learning design, assessment, transfer articulation, academic compliance, and institutional accreditation. In addition, the Liberal Studies Program, ROTC – Air Force and ROTC – Army are housed in this area. The Vice Provost also serves as the liaison to NAU’s accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission.
