Labs at PMI

Dr. Emily Cope Cope The Cope Lab focuses on the role of the microbiome in chronic and progressive diseases.

French The French Lab researches and tests drugs against Coronavirus Variants

Wagner The Wagner Lab researches the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases.

Walker The Ancient DNA Lab provides support for researchers working with ancient, historical, forensic, or other sensitive (low DNA quantity/quality) genetic samples.

PMI Main Lab BSL-2 The Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) Lab is suitable for work involving agents that pose moderate hazards to personnel and the environment.

BSL3_BSC BSL-3 The Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) Lab works Select Agents that have the potential to pose a sever threat to public health and safety.

Concourse Caporaso The Caporaso Bioinformatics Lab is an applied bioinformatics lab focused on microbiome research, software development, and bioinformatics education.

Genetic Analysis Instrument Lab Genetic Analysis Instrument The Genetic Analysis Instrument allows for the detection of the anticipated DNA target region during the early phases of the reaction.

PCR Thermal Cyclers PCR Amplification PCR is used to exponentially amplify a single copy of a segment of DNA and check whether the reaction successfully generated the anticipated DNA target region.
