- Running back Lindsey Graves was named Big Sky Co-Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday on the heels of his game-changing 100-yard kickoff return touchdown versus Eastern Washington.
- Shannon Guerrero, professor in the Department of Mathematics and Science, along with Ron Gray, chair of STEM Education and Jo’el Johanson, associate teaching professor of STEM Education, was awarded a grant from NSF’s Improving Undergraduate STEM Education program. The project, “Advancing Innovation in STEM Teacher Preparation: The STEM Core Practices Framework,” aims to strengthen undergraduate STEM teacher preparation through the development and study of the STEM Core Practices Framework.
- Associate professors at the School of Communication Sun Kim and Ashleigh Day’s collaborative paper was accepted for presentation at the National Communication Association conference.
- Chris Johnson, professor in the School of Communication, won second place at the Sedona Arts Center for his contemporary installation artwork titled “The Immensity of the Search.”
- Katsuya Oi, associate professor in the Department of Sociology, authored the articles “Optimism and the Time-Stable Component of Self-Rated Health: A Threshold-Specific Latent Growth Analysis” in the British Journal of Health Psychology and “Comparing Demographic and Neural-Network-Based Representations of the Black–White Mortality Hazard Gap” in Discover Public Health, a Springer Nature journal.
- NAU’s Tennis Center has received recognition as a United States Tennis Association Outstanding Facility Award for 2026. Both the men’s tennis head coach, Maciej Bogusz and the women’s head coach, Ewa Bogusz, traveled to the US Open in New York to receive the award.
