- Defense back Deliyon Freeman was named Big Sky Co-Defensive Player of the Week after his performance last Saturday, which contributed to a 38-28 victory over the University of Incarnate Word.
- Sam Minkler, a School of Communication professor, received a second-place award from the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) for his exhibit at the Santa Fe Indian Market. Minkler received the award for his photograph of a stork skimming across Lake Mary, employing pictorialism and the reflective nature of water. Minkler said his art is vital in realizing his purpose: to bring awareness about the overconsumption of natural resources and respect for the storied history of indigenous people in northern Arizona.
- Sun Kim, an assistant professor in the School of Communication, co-authored an article titled Asian Celebrity Voices Against Anti-Asian Racism: An Experiment with Young Adults published in the journal Mass Communication and Society. The publication focuses on a study that examines how active engagement in social activism by Asian celebrities, such as K-pop stars, can increase Gen Z’s support for policies addressing anti-Asian racism.
- Yang Jie, an assistant professor in The W. A. Franke College of Business, was featured in a WalletHub piece about zero-based budgeting in a section titled Ask the Experts. The article focuses on frequently asked questions about who benefits from zero-based budgeting and tips for getting the best results.
