How to Apply
All interested participants should complete an application. We will ask about your background, teaching experience, and motivation for joining the program. We aim to select a diverse group of educators from across the country with a passion for incorporating Indigenous history into their curricula and reducing educational inequalities impacting Indigenous youth and communities.
While all are welcome to apply, we will prioritize 6th-12th grade Social Studies teachers, or educators who will be able to use the content directly in their classrooms. We also hope educators from a variety of school types, regions, identities, and communities will apply. This may include Native educators in Indigenous-serving schools and non-Native teachers teaching some to few Indigenous students. We believe that understanding the Native experience is an essential responsibility for all Americans as they grapple with key questions related to our nation’s history, democracy and continued struggles for justice.
